Dan “Mozzie” Moss was born in Norwich in 1991, the 1 of three siblings. From a young age, it was clear music was in his bones—he was constantly talking, tapping, and drumming on anything in sight. School years saw Dan heavily involved in percussion groups, setting the foundations for what would become a lifelong journey in rhythm.

Before even reaching college, Dan had already completed his Grade 4 and 5 percussion exams. During his time at Access to Music College, he earned a Distinction in Level 3 Drums, Grade 8, and a Diploma for Performing Musicianship. His dedication and talent earned him Student of the Year, an award presented in London by the company’s top brass.

At 18, Dan was already touring the UK and parts of Europe with a rock band, playing shows nearly twice a week over three years while promoting their debut album. After this intense gigging chapter, Dan shifted his focus to education, pursuing a Level 4 Certificate in Teaching, which sparked his passion for tutoring.

He went on to work in music therapy in care homes, and participated in inclusive summer rock schools for young people with disabilities and learning difficulties, while also providing one-to-one drum tuition at college level.

When the pandemic hit, Dan continued collaborating with bands remotely, keeping creativity flowing through online projects. During lockdown, he moved in with his partner Ellie—a long-time friend from their early rock band days in 2010. Today, they’re engaged and living in Hellesdon, raising their 3-year-old son alongside a Siberian Forest Cat, two guinea pigs, and a full-on 1930s house renovation!

Dan worked at Play Music Today Norwich, proudly standing as one of the last dedicated drum salesperson in East Anglia. He has sold hundreds of drum kits since being there! Whether you’re a beginner or a touring pro, Dan’s your go-to guy for expert gear advice, drum maintenance, and professional tuning.

With years of experience in the music retail industry, Dan has built strong connections with musicians and drum companies around the globe. He has represented Headstock Distribution at the UK Drum Show, working with legendary brands like Zildjian, Tama, Vic Firth, and Aquarian Drumheads. Now that PMT has gone under administration, Dan was made redundant leading him to start the business of Mozzie Drums Events & Services.

Now, Dan is bringing the music community together through Mozzie Drums Events & Services—a new chapter dedicated to drummers of all levels. Whether it’s events, tuition, drum repairs, or finding your dream kit, Mozzie Drums is all about sharing the rhythm, supporting musicians, and keeping the beat alive. He has hit the local papers, his debut event has smashed over 160 people attending, and top brands and companies by his side such as Evans, Promark, Zildjian and Sonor. His recent work was a sold-out masterclass with the world’s famous drummer, producer and educator - THOMAS LANG!
